Job Description: -Assist the Manager and Assistant Manager of Athletic Equipment Services with Colgate Football team equipment needs.- Travel to all away games. Leaves day before with equipment truck for arrival at game site after loading and organizing all necessary equipment.- Work during Football pre-season camp which includes two practices a day.- Be in attendance at every practice, regardless of weather conditions Essential Functions: - Loading and unloading of golf cart and trailer with equipment and supplies needed daily for practices.- Daily set-up, organization, and break-down of practice field with equipment from storage shed or stadium depending on Coaches needs.- Transport daily practice uniforms and laundry loops to laundry facility after practice and assist staff with dispersal.- Re-check air pressure in practice balls daily and game balls on game day; responsible for getting game balls to the Officials for pre-check on game day and then taking them out to the field for the event staff.- Assist officials on game-day as necessary with electrical equipment.- Check for hardware and defects on practice helmets.- Pick up and drops off shoulder pads and helmets utilizing the OZONE machine.- Polish football game helmets weekly.- Check game helmets weekly for loose hardware, cracks, torn decals, etc., and fix or replace as needed.- Re-stock three game trunks each week before travel.- Assist and work directly with all football coaches on their equipment needs on a daily basis.- Hours may change depending on football practice time. Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent required. - Must possess a valid driver's license in accordance with the university MVR policy. - Must have ability to travel in advance of the team for away games. - Must be capable of working with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and visitors on a daily basis. Additional Preferred Qualifications: - General knowledge of football and/or previous experience a plus.
