The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is seeking applications for a Director of Baseball Operations. The position will report to the Head Baseball Coach and will be expected to perform all administrative functions and manage the day-to-day operations of the baseball program.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
Ensure University, department and NCAA procedures, rules and regulations are executed properly.
Manage all logistical aspects of on-campus recruiting of prospective student-athletes, including coordinating hotel accommodations, meals, game tickets and game day recruiting functions.
Assist with arrangement of all team and recruiting travel arrangements, including air and ground transportation, hotel accommodations and meals.
Serve as liaison between WVU baseball staff and the West Virginia Black Bears minor league baseball staff to coordinate the baseball program's use of Monongalia County Ballpark.
Administer daily office purchases, monitoring travel and other expenditures.
Administer the annual program banquet, including developing the program, administering awards and coordinating with Dining Services.
Assist with the organization, implementation and maintenance of all aspects of the team video and game analysis work.
Edit and process opponent and self-scout videotape using game analysis software.
Manage, create and produce statistical data for scouting analysis.
Report directly to the Head Baseball Coach and assist with carrying out the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletic program.
Pay Grade: 17
Work Hours: Varies must work extended hours, including nights and weekends, as needed
Master's degree in a related field; a bachelor's degree plus an additional two years of experience may be accepted
One (1) year of previous experience in coaching, operations, or administration required; experience as a collegiate student-athlete or a graduate assistant is acceptable
Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics (specifically baseball) and the NCAA and conference guidelines, policies, rules and regulations
Demonstrated strong communication skills, and ability to maintain and develop personal contacts with outside groups (i.e. student-athletes, professional representatives, fans, media, donors, University community)
Demonstrated ability to interact with individuals from diverse social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds
Demonstrated exceptional organization abilities
Ability to proficiently use a computer
