SPS Office of Events is seeking an Administrative Aide II to perform a wide range of clerical, secretarial and general office duties including those of a confidential nature. Prioritize office activities and delegate work to student and/or casual employees. May act as work leader to junior clerical support staff. Respond to inquiries displaying a comprehensive knowledge of the department's activities, policies and programs. Interact with the general public as NYU contact/liaison and with University personnel including those at the senior level to resolve issues and problems. Customize and/or compose letters on own initiative or in response to requests for information. Perform general word processing duties utilizing intermediate to advanced-level functions. Modify and/or create databases and complex spreadsheets. Monitor complex department budgets and/or grants.
Please note SPS events are held outside of regular schedule work hours which including nights and weekends.
Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent or an Associate's degree or some college.
Preferred Education: Associate's degree or some college or Bachelor's degree.
Required Experience: 3 years of office experience (with High School diploma). Experience providing a high level of customer service.
Preferred Experience: 2 years of office experience (with Associate's degree or some college). 1 to 2 years of office experience (with Bachelor's degree).
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Proficiency with intermediate to advanced word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. Moderate to fast, accurate keyboarding. Good proofreading and writing skills.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Proficiency with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office or proficiency with Apple. Knowledge of desktop publishing software. Knowledge of Access.
