The Department of Research and Graduate Education at the Health Sciences Center at West Virginia University is seeking applications for a Grants Administrator. This position will manage and provide centralized grant administration support to HSC Departments. This position will report directly to the Director of HSC Post-Award and will serve as part of the newly formed HSC Shared Services unit for Post-Award Grants Administration. The primary focus of this position is to administer post-award grant activities; however, this position will participate in pre-award administration support for HSC faculty as needed.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
Provide management and oversight of daily post-award grant administration to members of the HSC community.
Provide primary professional support and advice to HSC employees, supervisors and leadership groups.
Prepare and monitor annual operating and capital budgets.
Develop, implement and manage accounting processes, month-end reporting, closings and reconciliations of extramural funding sources.
Analyze present and historical financial data, trends and costs.
Participate in preparation of grant funds.
Master's degree in business, accounting, or related field of study; an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered
Two (2) years of experience in the following:
Pre- and post-award grants administration
Oracle/MAP financial system
Current software applications to support the needs of the position
Grants accounting, submitting proposals, completing online applications or reporting and other business related experience
Experience with Kuali Coeus is preferred, but not mandatory
Demonstrated ability to organize information and prepare complex reports for upper level administration
Skills in, or knowledge of, professional principles, legal and/or reporting requirements affecting extramurally sponsored projects
Demonstrated knowledge of higher education financial processes and procedures and managing accounting records
Ability to analyze data and provide useful information to the granting agency, WVU Grants Office, School of Medicine Business and Administration Office, and to the PI's at the departmental level HSC wide.
Ability to prepare, manage and maintain budgets and financial reports and provide reconciliation reports among clustered accounts.
Knowledge of WVU policies and procedures pertaining to budgetary, internal and external funding matters
Knowledge of various grant proposal application processes (online and hard copy submissions).
