The Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications is seeking a Print and Digital Graphic Designer to provide production services for print and the interactive projects. This position helps ease the workflow between both areas and will be called upon to assist each on an as-needed basis. Execute print and interactive advertising campaigns, email campaigns, as well as printed and electronic marketing collateral materials, ensuring that they adhere to University design standards. In addition, this individual will need to keep track of workflow in relation to departmental deadlines and schedules provided by the senior managers.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree
Preferred Education: Degree in graphic design
Required Experience: Minimum of 3 years of print and digital production experience.
Preferred Experience: At least three years of experience working in an advertising agency, internal communications department, or design studio with multiple clients and a variety of design projects. Ability to take direction from multiple managers and follow instructions. Previous experience working in a team-based environment under tight production deadlines. Experience in executing complex digital campaigns and detailed print projects.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to prioritize work load in a busy, deadline-driven environment. Strong layout and design skills in print, interactive and email production; and a keen eye for typography, color, and photography is essential. Ability to manipulate, scale, size, color correct, convert photography to and from RGB, CMYK, and B&W for print and digital environments. Ability to seamlessly switch between print, interactive, and email design as needed in order to accommodate the workload and production schedules of the department. Experience in servicing the needs of multiple clients and managers, ensuring that their needs and the needs of the clients are balanced. Deep, working knowledge of graphics software packages required. Proficiency in entire Adobe Creative Suite, HTML5, Animate CC, and After Effects. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office with and emphasis on Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Full portfolio of print and digital design projects is required for review.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Project management skills in the areas of graphic design and production. Ability to translate design concepts into executable projects.
