The Instructional Specialist will develop and deliver instructional curricula providing academic support to ensure that Opportunity Programs (OP) students receive the necessary competencies needed to succeed in a particular subject area.
Required Education: Master's degree
Preferred Education: Doctoral degree
Required Experience: 5-7 years of experience teaching engineering related math courses (pre-calculus, calculus, algebra, etc.)
Preferred Experience: Experience teaching or tutoring at an Opportunity Program at the university level.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels both verbally and in writing. Understanding of curricula development and pedagogy. Experience working in a college or university, particularly with students of economically disadvantaged background.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Advanced technical skills, i.e. Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, etc.
