Perform a wide range of client service duties including those of a confidential nature. Answer telephones, respond to email and electronic service requests from NYU's workflow system, within agreed upon service level agreements. Serve as the initial source of information for users of the FinanceLink Service Center as well as the general University community to resolve client inquiries and issues related to financial systems, accounts payable, tax, procurement, insurance, budget, accounting and reporting, and other defined inquiry categories. Respond to and resolve inquiries displaying a comprehensive knowledge of the Finance department's processes, systems, and policies. Escalate inquiries or issues requiring additional research or input to the appropriate FinanceLink or other resource including those within Financial Operations & Treasury or any other area (Financial Systems Management, Accounts Payable, Tax, Accounting & Reporting, Procurement, Treasury and Real Estate, Budget Office, etc.). Customize and/or compose email correspondence to internal and external requests for information. Modify and/or create databases and complex spreadsheets.
Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education: Associate's degree
Required Experience: 3 years of related experience including financial operations in a client service environment. Experience providing a high level of customer service.
Preferred Experience: 2 years of finance related experience (with Associate's degree). 1 year of experience (with Bachelor's degree). Experience in Accounts Payable, Higher Education and/or a Shared Services environment.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Proficiency with intermediate to advanced word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. Must be fully committed to providing the highest level of customer service with excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient with MS Office. Fam skills. Ability to type accurately at moderate to fast pace. Familiarity with customer service workflow systems.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Experience with financial systems and/or case management systems (ServiceNow). Proficiency with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office.
