Flex time Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner opportunity with a company in the New River Valley region. Flex hours Monday- Friday; 7:30am-4:00pm. No weekends or holidays. Must be focused on preventitive medicine and wellness. Prior experience treating work related injuries & illnesses preferred. Primary duties will be work-related injury treatment and follow-up, medical surveillance for workplace exposures, DOT pre-emp/post offer physicals, respiratory and hazmat physicals. Knowledge of OSHA Medical surveillance preferred. COHN/COHN-S preferred.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Education: Graduate of an Accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
Licensure,certification, and/or registration: Current Virginia State Licensed Nurse Practitoner (NP) and DEA license required, or must be eligible to obtain. AHA BLS-HCP certification required. Advanced Life Support certification preferred.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with State regulations and as authorized by the Virginia Boards of Medicine. Capable of meeting credentialing or job function requirements as needed based on the requirements of the practice and of managed care payors and insurers. Qualifies for malpractice insurance and is accepted by Carilion Clinic's malpractice insurance carrier. Able to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers. Demonstrates good written and oral communication skills. Computer literacy required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.
