The Building Services unit at West Virginia University's Extension Service Jackson's Mill, located in Weston, WV, is seeking applications for a Manager Physical Plant I. This position will serve as a working supervisor and is responsible for all aspects of the day, evening and overnight shift operations.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
Provide daily supervision and work assignments to employees, ensuring that work is being done in a timely and efficient manner.
Conduct all aspects of supervision, to include training, annual performance appraisals, approve leave requests, counseling, scheduling, etc.
Coordinate with other units at Jackson's Mill to assure buildings are clean and properly set up for incoming clients.
Use the Resort Data Processing system to access and update information.
Assure care and maintenance of facilities, supplies and equipment through regular inspections and cleaning of building at Jackson's Mill and the State Fire Academy., which will require driving a state vehicle.
Work various shifts to provide security, and assist with cleaning of housing and meeting room set ups.
Maintain records and prepare reports on unit accomplishments.
Order and maintain inventory.
Work Hours: Various; may be required to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
Pay Grade: 16
Associates degree of over 18 months and up to 3 years technical or vocational experience required in hotel/motel housekeeping management
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted
At least (3) years of experience in commercial cleaning, cleaning supplies and equipment
At least (1) year of experience in supervisory/management, light maintenance and inventory procedures
Knowledge of basic computer software programs
Conflict resolution skills
Strong organizational skills
Valid driver's license
