Buyer will process material requests from assigned departments.Requests need to be processed within a 24 hour period.Orders should be examined for correctness and should be consistent with quality, quantity, specification requirements as determined by Carilion Clinic.
Minimum Qualifications Required
Education:High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate's Degree in business or related field preferred and desirable.
Experience: Previous Lawson ERP knowledge is desired.Previous purchasing experience preferred.Knowledge of medical equipment and project management through clinical or business experience is preferred.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration:N/A
Other Minimum Qualifications: Strong working knowledge of purchasing to include sourcing, purchase orders, receiving, and accounts payable invoicing. Strong customer service and problem-solving skills, including the ability to build relationships with internal/external customers and suppliers. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize, meet multiple deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced growing environment. Digitally proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly in Excel spreadsheets incorporating formulas and management of large amounts of data.Ability to logically keep, organize, and maintain paper files of project budgets and capital purchases according to corporate Policies and Procedures. Proficiencies in email and telephone communications.
