The Brokerage Operations Coordinator is responsible for facilitating various departmental and cross-functional projects and initiatives. The role includes responsibility for keeping track of departmental statistics, maintaining daily, weekly and monthly reports for trading and operations departments, oversight and tracking of FINRA and Firm Element Continuing Education modules and required training. Responsible for ongoing tracking and coordination of brokerage Key Measures from all trading and operations departments . The Brokerage Operations Coordinator will report to the Director of Operations, but will support all brokerage departments. Specific projects will be assigned as necessary, and the time allocation between the project-related work and daily responsibilities will vary, based on the changing needs of the department. Knowledge of core investment management operations and an understanding of the strategic and tactical priorities of the department and the firm are required. An understanding of the roles and responsibilities of each division is also required. Many projects require a deep understanding of the services provided by external service and technology vendors, and the service expectations of our firm. Expertise in building collaborative relationships and fostering excellent business partners is also critical. The position will require involvement in multiple simultaneous projects including automation, outsourcing initiatives, implementing product development initiatives, etc. that require creativity, cooperation and balancing efforts. An entrepreneurial inclination is key to the position, because many of the tasks are unique, and require custom solutions and collaboration across many teams and individuals. Problem-solving skills and flexibility are essential, since the responsibilities are complex and involve input from many different areas. This job has critical impact on the business within the various units of the Brokerage Operations Department as well as other key areas of the firm, including technology, distribution, trading and investments. The primary purpose of the job is to implement strategic priorities, business process improvements and automation initiatives. In addition, the role is externally facing, in terms of developing relationships, service level agreements and oversight protocol for key service providers. The position requires very strong interpersonal skills, and professionalism since the job will require extensive interaction with individuals at all levels of the organization, both within the Operations Department and across other functional areas of the firm, and with external counter parties and service providers. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential since the role requires preparing and presenting materials to various audiences.
Qualifications BA/BS Degree or 3-5 years of experience in the financial services industry preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point a must.
