Information Systems professionals are integral to the success of a large non-profit agency. Children’s Home + Aid serves nearly 40,000 Illinois children and families each year by helping them overcome overwhelming obstacles such as poverty, abuse, and neglect. We are seeking a Systems Analyst to configure, test, implement and maintain technology solutions to support the agency’s growing need to effectively manage data for our large client base.
As the Systems Analyst, you will ensure that client data is used productively and effectively informs Children’s Home + Aid’s decision-making processes, and you will maintain a collaborative relationship with agency staff who rely upon your technical expertise to successfully implement systems and applications that support service delivery. Systems Analyst Responsibilities Include:
Document systems requirements and specifications, evaluate technology options, and design solutions consistent with existing infrastructure and information systems skill set.
Work with program staff to develop recommendations regarding use of client data to implement initiatives, solve problems, and quantify how the organization’s services benefit clients.
Develop information systems in accordance with requirements and specifications to meet information needs of the organization.
Configure, test, and implement applications, databases, and reports.
Support, monitor, maintain, and enhance existing information systems.
Provide training and technical support for end-users of information systems.
Monitor changing data requirements of funders/contractors and configure and implement system enhancements as required.
Bachelor’s degree in information systems or another computer science field OR High School Diploma/equivalent PLUS at least four years relevant information systems experience
Familiarity with application development preferred
Required database knowledge: Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Access
1-2 years experience developing reports in SQL Server Reporting Services, Business Objects, or other reporting tool.
Knowledge of data modeling principles and database programming/administration preferred.
Experience creating system specification documentation preferred.
Must have strong customer service orientation and proven ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
Strong initiative, detail orientation, and excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
Ability to rely on technical expertise, as well as curiosity and creativity, to interpret and solve problems.
