Required Qualifications: (As Evidenced by an Attached Resume) Bachelor's degree in related field. Two (2) years of full time directly related experience with advanced research related/laboratory activities. Experience with handling of animals in a laboratory setting. Competency in cell culture, immunofluorescence (co-staining and confocal cell imaging), molecular cloning, hybridizations, DNA sequencing, PCR, RT-PCR. Demonstrated ability to do independent research projects (with publications), ability to exercise independent judgment and decision making skills along with strong oral and written communication and inter-personal skills. Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree. Additional years of experience working in a laboratory management position. Experience with computer programs and laboratory based software applications. Experience with biochemical methods (recombinant proteins, co-immunoprecipitation, ultracentrifugation). Brief Description of the Position: The Senior Research Support Specialist will be responsible for managing all lab activities and operations including laboratory databases. The incumbent will assist with and conduct experiments. The incumbent will work collaboratively with other employees, faculty and professionals to advance the goals of the project. Observe, collect and analyze data and write summary reports as necessary. Responsible for Management of all lab activities and operations. Purchase and maintain all lab supplies. Develop, design and conduct and implement experiments independently under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI). Work with cell cultures, cell imaging, molecular cloning, hybridizations, DNA sequencing, PCR, RT-PCR. Supervise and train students and collaborators in all laboratory-based assays and techniques. Generate reports for experiment outcomes and the status of research projects. Other duties as assigned. Special Notes: This is a full time appointment.
