The Project Management Office in Information Technology Services at West Virginia University is seeking applications for an IT Project Coordinator (Professional Technologist 2). This position is responsible for managing small- to medium-sized projects, and coordinating activities and functions to ensure that goals and objectives specified for each project are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, funding limitations or other specifications.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
Provide assistance to project managers in support of technical projects and systems, including project and operational support.
Support the Assistant Director of the Project Management Office in coordinating and leading departmental operations.
Independently coordinate the management of small projects for the PMO and ITS units.
Assist project managers with mid-level and enterprise project coordination.
Assess risks on projects that may affect the critical path.
Support the drafting and issuance of project proposals, RFPs, Statements of Work, requests for budget, securing third party resources, and purchase orders.
Prepare project organization and communication charts.
Manage and update project management tools such as TeamDynamix and SharePoint.
Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the client and project team in a timely fashion.
Complete other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in business, IT, finance, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Two (2) years of experience in the following:
Direct project coordination and management experience (IT industry experience preferred)
Experience within a business, higher education, grants, payroll, or systems-related field
Commitment to customer- and team-oriented management
Ability to work collaboratively within an academic community
Ability to manage vendor and consultant negotiations
Basic knowledge of ERP applications, their planning, processes/tools and implementations
Familiarity with Ellucian Banner software and Oracle E-Business Suite
