Join our Finance team and be a part of the statewide infrastructure that supports our mission of creating hope, opportunity, and bright futures for at-risk children and families. The Regional Accountant supports program leadership by providing fiscal review and analysis, budget preparation, and financial reporting for a variety of programs in Southern, Central, and Northern Illinois. The Regional Accountant reports to the Director of Budgets, Contracts + Compliance.
Regional Accountant responsibilities include:
Complete regular financial reporting on a timely basis for a range of funders, including the Illinois Department of Human Services and the United Way.
Prepare budgets for both internal audiences and external funders.
Review and provide analysis of programs’ financial statements; support program leadership in successful financial management and execution of program budget
Serve as liaison between regional leadership and the agency finance department
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
Three years relevant business experience required; experience with budget preparation and financial analysis preferential.
Knowledge of general accounting principles required.
Familiarity with financial software preferred.
Experience providing financial reports for funders a plus.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products required.
Ability to communicate technical financial information to non-technical audiences.
Ability to travel to multiple regions within Illinois on a monthly basis.
