Corporate Credit is responsible for independently overseeing the management of credit risk exposures (including monitoring and reporting on aggregate credit exposures across groups, legal entities, geographies, and jurisdictions) and the quality of credit risk management practices across the company. This oversight extends to all phases of a loan's life cycle, including origination, underwriting, risk analysis, approval, documentation, boarding, monitoring, loss recognition, modification, and collection activities. Corporate Credit is responsible for delegating and/or removing credit and investment approval authorities to the lines of business.
More specifically, Corporate Credit develops, maintains and ensures adherence to enterprise-wide credit risk frameworks, policies, and procedures that are aligned with Board-approved risk appetite.
About Our Team
As the largest mortgage originator and servicer in the country, understanding the value of real estate is critical. Real Estate Valuation Services (REVS) serves as an independent risk management function within Corporate Credit that:
Interprets appraisal regulation and sets Corporate Valuation Policy
Communicates with regulators on pending and proposed regulations
Assumes responsibility for ensuring that compliant valuation processes and practices are in place for all valuations across Wells Fargo
Leads the industry in real estate valuation processes and execution
This role, Business Initiatives Consultant 2, will be responsible for project management execution and provide oversight in support of REVS senior leadership to ensure strategic focused initiatives and goals continuously meet the needs of our partners, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders. Position will be responsible for REVS strategic initiatives and projects including oversight and cross-functional coordination and overall execution to ensure resources are optimized and effectively managed, budgets are developed, managed, and consistently met, timelines and milestones are realistic and achieved, costing impacts and benefits are understood, analyzed and optimized, and successful outcomes ensured. Position will align closely with REVS quality oversight team with a strong focus and emphasis on enhancing capital planning, analyzing and providing cost justification, evaluating and optimizing costing impacts and benefits, and ensuring overall cost and operational efficiencies are achieved and maintained.
Position will be responsible for a variety of tasks including but not limited to:
Manage, drive, and deliver REVS strategic plan related project initiatives for REVS senior leadership.
Execute the short and long term roadmaps at both the strategic and tactical levels including measurement of success, efficiency, and overall effectiveness.
Partner and collaborate effectively with technology resources, REVS LOB partners, and REVS internal teams to build and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders and understand our partners' business challenges and opportunities as background to developing and ultimately executing REVS strategies and recommendations.
Lead, manage, oversee, and track activities associated with high visibility projects that are short and long-term in nature and have substantial impact to REVS and partners.
Work with multiple groups and stakeholders to identify requirements, develop project plans and strategies, and prepare business cases and justifications, budgets and to ensure successful completion.
Accountable for end-to-end project management through ownership of the process from beginning through completion. Responsibilities include communication of project goals, status, plans and progress at the level of detail appropriate for various audiences at different levels within the organization.
The ideal location for this opportunity will be Charlotte, NC. However qualified applicants in other locations may be considered. Required Qualifications
6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, implementation, or strategic planning
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to articulate a complex problem, design, or build strategy
Experience communicating and presenting complex information to multiple levels of the organization
Ability to turn preliminary or ambiguous information, ideas, or problems into well-defined plans and solutions
Strategic planning experience in translating leadership vision into executable strategies and initiatives
Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment
Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members
Ability to influence, partner, and negotiate with senior business leaders to gain commitment to accomplish business goals
Strong project management skills
Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills
Other Desired Qualifications
Understanding of unit costing, activity based costing, risk/benefit analysis, and overhead rate analysis experience strongly preferred
