As a Licensing Specialist for Foster Care, you will perform a variety of functions related to the development, licensing, approval, and monitoring of foster homes in the Traditional, Specialized, and Treatment Foster Care programs. The focus of a Licensing Specialist is to support and maximize the well-being of children in our Foster Care programs.
Recruit individuals and families as potential foster parents.
Perform mutual family assessments on potential foster families.
Complete required paperwork and act as the liaison between programs and DCFS to secure final approval for foster parent licenses.
Maintain caretaker files and records per DCFS rules, regulations, and procedures.
Perform monitoring functions related to licensing requirements for foster homes.
Work cooperatively with multiple program supervisors regarding availability of homes.
Plan and implement foster care training in collaboration with other teams.
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
Experience in licensing and monitoring of foster homes preferred.
Experience in foster care case management preferred.
Successful completion of examination(s) related to the licensing/approval of foster families preferred.
Must have valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
