POSITION TITLE: Hope-Strong Family Ministries Director
LOCATION/DEPT: Divisional Headquarters
REPORTS TO (TITLE): Divisional Commander
FLSA CATEGORY: Exempt
STATUS TYPE: Full-Time
To assist in accomplishing the mission of The Salvation Army through the coordination of all mission activities, corps and social service, within the City of Chicago.
Responsible for the supervision and coordination of an integrated model of mission based on the collaboration of all Salvation Army units and resources with the City of Chicago.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administration & Planning
Support and coordinate all program ministries within each of the designated four service regions
Provides professional training as necessary for Hope-Strong orientations and those participating in the collaboration zone within each service regions
Assist in creating action plans, implementation of collaborative efforts and evaluation of outcomes and outputs in each of the service regions
Supervision & Management
Recruitment, selection, management, and training of Mission Resource Specialists
Review of performance and determination of service areas for Mission Resource Specialists
Ensure budgetary controls are adhered to within the Hope-Strong budget and associated personnel
Actively support divisional fund raising efforts by working with Development Department and service regions to secure funding through grants, contracts, donors, and fund raising events
Maintain excellent communications among all parties within the Hope-Strong network
Create a collaborative environment of work with all service regions
Explore opportunities for mission expansion
Strengthen existing program ministries through supportive internal and external resources
This position reports to the Divisional Commander.
This position supervises activities of the Hope-Strong office and related personnel.
In contacts related to this position's duties, this individual acts as a representative of The SalvationArmy and its mission.
This individual will be evaluated on how effectively the outcomes of this position are achieved according to the effective application of Hope-Strong principles within each of the service regions, including the successful implementation of regional action plans.
Timeliness and accuracy of accomplishing assigned goals will be reviewed through ongoing communications with the Divisional Commander
An evaluation of how effectively service is provided will be conducted annually, with quarterly follow up meetings with the Divisional Commander
A Master's degree in Social Work, A Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
5 years experience in field of Social Work and Administration
Valid Driver's license/MVR clearance
Willing to promote the mission of The Salvation Army.
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
Uses diplomacy and good judgment.
Demonstrated ability to use initiative and be a self starter.
An attention to detail, procedures, processes and policies.
A positive attitude and the ability to be flexible in light of changing job situations/priorities.

This individual will only commit Army resources that have been allocated or approved.
This individual will keep the Divisional Commander informed on all critical issues relating to their area of responsibility.
This individual will adhere to all policies and procedures in carrying out the responsibilities of this position.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is required to do moderate physical work and must be able to lift 10 pounds
In order to successfully perform the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to use standard office equipment and PC
The work environment for this position includes an office and field work environment
Must be able to drive
