Develops, oversees, and markets all programming aspects of the NYU Production Lab (Lab), an interdisciplinary film incubator that assists NYU’s creative community in the transition from the classroom to careers in the media and entertainment industries. Manages Lab’s relationship and provision of services to supported slate filmmakers and projects. Responsible for cultivating external relations with industry partners, as well as NYU faculty, and serves as development liaison with prospective donors. Responsible for collaborative experiential learning programs with Stern School of Business. May supervise staff and students as needed.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education: Masters of Arts in Arts Administration OR Masters in Business Administration
Required Experience: 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in academic administration, media/entertainment industry or a related area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include experience working with students, high-level executives, external stakeholders, and managing office operations, budgets, and staff.
Preferred Experience: Script coverage, film finance, marketing, film distribution, copy editing, publicity, and grant writing experience.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Familiarity with best-practices in current film distribution; excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interact with distinguished visitors, faculty, and students. Proven ability to direct and implement a variety of operations and activities, to communicate policies and procedures to individuals at all levels and use problem solving and negotiating skills. Knowledge of standard office software including PowerPoint and online and traditional information databases (e.g., Lexis-Nexus).
