Provides leadership, guidance & support by ensuring consistent development, implementation and execution of integrated strategies and solutions with regard to all environmental health and safety issues. Manage the safety department and regulatory compliance inspections. Interfaces with all regulatory agencies regarding inspections, compliance issues, occurrences and employee safety complaints. Develops and implements environmental, health, and safety related training programs and policies.
Responsibilities 1. Provides leadership, guidance & support by ensuring consistent development, implementation and execution of integrated strategies and solutions with regard to all environmental health and safety issues. 2. Identifies non-complaint locations and business units with potential environmental, health, and saftey violations within a defined geographic location. 3. Supports the Division Vice President and Regional Managers in activities related to the development of business in the respective region as it relates to safety processes, risk assessments, start-up of operations, etc. 4. Analyze trends to make recommendations on how to improve key performance indicators results. 5. Supports regional management systems and strategies that ensure cost effective business solutions in the areas of Employee Safety & Health, Transportation Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Hazardous Materials, Ergonomics and Environment for both facilities and vehicular operations. 6. Ensures Servicemaster's business goals and objectives are met by identifing, reporting, and providing solutions to the region managers regarding employee safety programs, regulatory compliance, security breaches and employee health issues. 7. Ensures operating managers take the appropriate action to address loss drivers in workers compensation, auto liability and general liability. 8. Manage the safety department and regulatory compliance inspections. 9. Interfaces with all regulatory agencies regarding inspections, compliance issues, occurrences and employee safety complaints. 10. Develops and implements environmental, health, and safety related training programs and policies.
Education and Experience Requirements
B.S. Occupational Safety Management, Risk Management or related field plus 5 years of direct field safety experience in managing safety and health required
M.S. Degree in Safety Management, Risk Management or related field preferred Certified Safety Professional, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, or Certified Industial Hygienist preferred
