The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics isseeking applications for the position of Academic Counselor, TutorServices. The position will administer the academic tutoring program for all student-athletes.
Thisposition is responsible for recruitment, hiring, training,payroll and appraisal for more than 75 hourly employees, ensuring that tutorsare trained on matters of NCAA compliance and academic integrity. The position will be expected to arrangemeetings between student-athletes and academic tutors and academic serviceunits and maintain frequent communication with coaches, faculty, tutors, anduniversity professionals regarding student-athlete progress and concerns.

Possess a proven success rate in academicdevelopment.
Maintain high standard of ethics and integrity related to intercollegiate athletics
Demonstrate knowledge of NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics
Exhibit strong creative, organizational and interpersonal skills
Demonstrate ability to manage multiple tasks for extended period of time
Maintain a proactive attitude towards work and assignments
Demonstrate ability to maintain and develop personal contacts with outside groups, i.e. student-athletes, faculty, academic professionals, parents, University community
Demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
Demonstrate ability to organize and motivate groups and individuals
Ability to maintain proper unit attendance and punctuality standards, work extended hours including nights and weekends.
Knowledge of higher education system and of counseling and advising techniques
Demonstrate knowledge of Federal Educational Rightsand Privacy Act (FERPA) guidelines and
Master'sdegree, preferably in education, or a related field.
Six (6) months of teaching, tutoring or otherwise instructing students in a higher education environment.
Graduate assistantexperience is acceptable
