Under very general supervision, represent and market NYU to potential students at on-campus and off-campus recruitment events; cultivate relationships with students, parents, high school and college guidance counselors to encourage a positive response and interest in attending NYU and promote NYU and its' schools and programs. Assist with the achievement of University, geographic, and department enrollment targets by encouraging qualified students to apply to NYU. Review and evaluate students' admission applications. Approve or deny applications and recommend borderline applicants to Admission Committee's for further consideration. Advise students, parents, and high school and college guidance counselors on application process, University and School programs, academic requirements, financial aid options, housing, and other student services. Collaborate with other team members to identify and recruit for special scholars programs.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree and
Required Experience: 1 year admissions or related student services experience.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to promote the University and to work independently as well as part of a team. Outstanding interpersonal, public speaking, and writing skills. Ability to handle sensitive situations and/or people. Valid drivers license. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel extensively.
