Tufts University Advancement seeks a Senior Director ofDevelopment for its School of Engineering (SOE). The Senior Director of Development will join Tufts duringthe public launch of a university-wide comprehensive campaign and will lead theSchool's campaign effort to raise $70 million.The SOE is one of seven school-based fundraising and alumni relationsunits within University Advancement.

About the Opportunity:
TheSenior Director of Development is responsible for leading the SOE's Advancementprogram.S/he works closely with theDean and the Executive Director, University Advancement to design and implementa comprehensive fundraising strategy with the goal of increasing philanthropicsupport and constituent involvement.
Theincumbent will recruit and manage frontline fundraisers and administrativesupport staff, develop strategic plans to guide the Advancement program,prepare annual tactical plans outlining actions in support of fundraising andrelationship-building goals, report on program progress, and represent theEngineering Advancement program before various internal and externalaudiences.The Senior Director will alsobe directly responsible for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of aportfolio of leadership donors to the School.
TuftsUniversity is engaged in a major comprehensive university-wide campaign and theSenior Director will be responsible for the strategy and tactics for the publicphase of the Campaign to ensure that the School of Engineering meets its goals.S/he will work closely with academic leadership and with the School's CampaignCommittee and an expanded volunteer corps.
Philanthropyin support of the SOE typically totals $6 – $8 million per year in major andannual gifts. The campaign goal for the School will be $70 million and theoverall campaign goal will be $1.5 billion.
