Preferred Qualifications: Additional years of experience in clinical research or patient engagement. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks when needed. Brief Description of Duties: The Project Staff Assistant will provide a platform to facilitate successful recruitment of research participants, in underserved populations, in a manner that promotes the overarching goals of the Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) program. Responsible for planning and developing a recruitment unit dedicated to supporting the recruitment of trial participants into clinical research studies. Responsible for clinical research, patient engagement, communications, cultural competency, and ethics so that potential participants can be notified of research opportunities in an ethical and effective way. Liaise with other research Innovation centers, community outreach organizations, and local clinical partners. Record and provide participant data with importance on patient privacy safeguarding and regulations pertaining to privacy and human subject protection. Facilitate regulatory procedures and platforms for data management. Help study teams identify and characterize target populations, develop recruitment and retention strategies as well as contingency plans for studies that are in immediate danger of not meeting enrollment goals. Use different web data bases like Electronic heath record (EHR) based cohort assessment. Work closely with the Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) Program. Inform and educate participants on studies they are in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and ensure consistency with any consent documents used. Report all information to principle investigator. Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission. Special Notes: This is a full time appointment.
