Provide analytical support to Financial Analysts in New York University's Sponsored Programs Administration (which manages all of the University's grants and contracts supporting the institution's research efforts). Work in close collaboration with SPA Financial Analysts, as well as Financial Operations & Treasury, School, and Administrative and Auxiliary unit financial officers and their staff. Evaluate award letters and budgets, financial/accounting reports, set-up and close-out projects, and resolve discrepancies. Other related duties as assigned.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics or other analytical discipline
Required Experience: 1-2 years quantitative analytical experience, preferably in finance or accounting.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Strong quantitative and modeling skills. Ability to use databases, workflow systems, and presentation and standard query tool software. Ability to understand management requirements and broader processes and to frame the result of research and financial analysis in a clear and concise fashion. Demonstrated proficiency with intermediate to advanced level Microsoft Word and Excel. Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Familiarity with Oracle software including Hyperion Planning and financial reporting query.
