We are now accepting applications for our General Management MBA Internship for Summer 2018 in the GP Professional business. Georgia-Pacific Professional is a leading provider of hygienic dispensing systems, towels, tissues, soaps, plates, cups, cutlery and napkins with leading brands such as Dixie®, enMotion® and Compact®. We provide a range of products to business segments including office buildings, healthcare, education, manufacturing and foodservice.
Responsibilities: MBA General Management interns will have a primary project that addresses key business priorities. The project will require the interns to work effectively with cross functional teams from R&D, pricing, manufacturing, supply chain, marketing and sales to provide recommendations to senior Business and Sales leaders. Previous assignments have included:
Business Growth Strategy: Implement a comprehensive strategy to increase penetration of GP value-added products by developing a business analysis of category and segment trends, competitive brands, production and inventory management.
Innovation Roadmap: Lead a team including product management, R&D and finance to develop next generation GP value-added products, and build financial justification for commercialization.
New Product Development: Develop a strategy to determine the attractiveness and feasibility of a new product accounting for competitive landscape, manufacturing capabilities, price strategy, and final recommendation.
Assignments will vary based on candidate’s background and interests, and on the current needs of the business. Additional projects may be undertaken, time permitting. Opportunities will be afforded to explore functions across the organization and gain exposure to multiple areas of the business
Bachelor’s degree required, and candidate must be currently enrolled in a full-time MBA program
2+ years of experience in general management, marketing, consulting, or related field preferred
Knowledge – Skills – Abilities:
Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities
Strong financial acumen, problem-solving capabilities and project management skills
Ability to gather, interpret and synthesize market input into business and marketing strategy
Sense of urgency, customer focus and ability to influence and gain support from peers and leaders across the organization
General knowledge of product management (brand management, supply chain, manufacturing, pricing, marketing and sales) is a plus.
