This is an academic year position, working 42 weeks per year.
Tufts Dining is a self-operated food service provider managing a comprehensive collegiate food service program on the Tufts University Medford-Somerville campus delivering high quality, contemporary and innovative food and hospitality services to meet the various needs of students, faculty, staff and visitors in a fiscally responsible manner. Our team operates a progressive resident dining program for approximately 4000 students as well as responsive retail services and a distinctive university catering program serving the campus community totaling 5100 undergraduates, 1700 graduate students, and 2300 faculty, staff and administrators.
The Pizza/Grill Cook will prepare a variety of menu items for service following established preparation guidelines using a griddle, charbroiler, deep fat fryer and pizza oven to prepare food to order within forecasted and planned amounts. Will complete all assigned work ensuring high quality and timely meal preparation and following all standards of quality and sanitation. Will prepare food products in customer service areas serving and interacting with customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
Must have a minimum of 1 year of cooking experience using griddles, deep fat fryers, pizza ovens and charbroilers to prepare a wide range of products to order.
Must have a demonstrated ability to work with limited supervision in a logical, efficient and productive manner.
Must be able to speak and understand the English language.
High School diploma/GED preferred.
