The Role: Xylem seeks to hire a Senior Sales Engineer to be the subject matter expert for disinfection, oxidation and advanced oxidation processes. The SSE will be primarily responsible for selling products dedicated to our WEDECO brand and technically supporting our 3rd party channel to market. The position will work closely with the Regional Managers and 3rd party representatives, Application Engineers and Growth Center to effectively communicate the function specific value proposition to our customers, and promote region specific products and applications. The Senior Sales Engineer will be responsible and accountable for meeting and exceeding an annual orders and sales budget for the brand and products within a specified region and assisting the Regional Manager grow the opportunity funnel.
The position will be part of a team that strives to achieve overall company goals in terms of revenue and profitability, image, reputation, and customer service. The Senior Sales Engineer will require strong communication skills to effectively manage key customer accounts, and also collaborate with peers across the Xylem organization.
Provide superior support to 3rd party Representatives to successfully be specified and sell the company products in their assigned territory, including on-going training, support of product/application launches, etc.
Provide superior application, design, costing/pricing support and responsiveness to all customers (consulting engineers, contractors, and end-users)
Manage and maintain opportunity funnel using CRM software to prioritize projects, track performance, and organize/manage daily tasks
Leverage CRM software to perform competitive benchmarking and provide regional feedback on market conditions and competitive landscape
Manage territory to achieve assigned territory and company goals for Sales Volume, Margin, Profitability and Growth of opportunity funnel including monthly, yearly forecasting.
Work with Regional Managers to provide training, update on products/applications, success stories to new channel partners and key customers
Work with Regional Managers, Marketing, and 3rd party channel to influence marketplace through whitepapers/case stories & presentations at regional/national conferences
Work with Applications Engineers to keep up to date with training collateral, product/application sizing/costing tools, presentation collateral, and proposal/bid development procedures
Personally and through other company resources, develop general depth in Xylem product portfolio and application knowledge to identify cross-branded opportunities
Drive a culture that is highly responsive to both internal and external customers and which provides accurate, comprehensive and timely information
Ability to prioritize, focus, and complete critical initiatives
Strong capability to lead/coordinate with team members in various geographic locations over whom there is not a direct reporting relationship; must have excellent influence skills
Self-motivated, self-starter with intrinsic drive to work independently, with balanced guidance from sales director and leadership team
Ability to network effectively within organization to get things done
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or Sciences
5 years of experience working in the water and wastewater treatment market; specifically working with representatives, consultants, contractors and end-users technically and commercially
Demonstrated successful sales experience with sales budget/region responsibility and customer account management
Deep knowledge of water and/or wastewater treatment process and applications; specifically in disinfection, oxidation and advanced oxidation processes.
Experience working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system a plus
Passionate about customer intimacy & customer service
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Excellent interpersonal, influence & communication skills (written & oral)
Excellent task management & organization skills
Six Sigma Green Belt a plus

Must occasionally lift/ transport up to 25 pounds.
Office: Standard office equipment; work usually performed in an office setting free from any disagreeable elements.
Travel: As required to fulfill the duties listed above. Other travel as needed or required by the company: Nationwide: 50%+.
