The Office of Communications and Marketing provides a wide range of strategic communications services through three primary groups:
Editorial: Tells the Tufts story through print, digital, photography and multimedia and produces six alumni magazines, including the flagship Tufts Magazine, as well as the news site Tufts Now, and Blueprint, a periodical for donors to and friends of the university. Tufts Photo provides news, feature and event photography for Tufts' publications and the university community.
Marketing and Branding: Produces a wide range of print and digital communications – from event invitations to integrated marketing campaigns – serving university clients and advancement priorities. The group oversees the university's visual identity and manages the Tufts homepage and upper level, its main social media channels, the university's events calendar, the weekly Tufts Announcements email, and a range of university web applications. We also partner with Tufts Technology Services to provide Drupal web design, development and hosting services to university clients.
Public Relations: Keeps the university's profile high, positive and in support of the Tufts brand across all external news media. The team also provides issues and crisis management and helps develop special communications plans.
The Senior Marketing Data Analyst role will work with these areas to perform analysison the full range of available marketing and digital metrics.The Senior Marketing Data Analyst will use quantitativetools and corresponding reports to identify the trends and opportunities in thedata to propose directions in which marketing and editorial efforts can move tomaximize the ROI of investments on behalf of the university.
Under limited supervision and intensively utilizing his/her expertise, the Senior Marketing Data Analyst will serve the entire department by performing analysis on the full range of available marketing and digital metrics.
B.A. or B.S. in marketing, statistics, economics, business or finance, marketing analytics, or similarly focused degrees.
5 to 7 years of experience of data analysis within marketing and/or professional business environments. Proven record of implementing data-centric methodologies, practices and strategies that have directly impacted the performance of a business unit.
Excellent financial, business, and strategic analysis skills (e.g., survey development and analysis, data mining, financial/database analysis)
Depth of analysis experience within search (organic and paid), social channels, and website analytics.
Demonstrated understanding of editorial content environments and the use of data to fuel positive creative impact. Use of relevant analytical tools and platform.
Must haves: Excel, PowerPoint, experience with Reporting/Analyzing Marketing Metrics (i.e GA/Adobe Analytics/Marin/etc).
SQL, Data visualization tools such as Tableau/Domo/etc, SEO and SEM platforms; Kenshoo, Marin, Moz Pro. Bonus: R, Python, SAS, Stata, SPPS.
