Under general direction, provides clinical audiometric assessment and diagnosis of hearing disorders; provides clinical assessment of balance disorders; dispenses hearing aids.
Candidate will provide Clinical Audiometric Assessment using a variety of tests to determine type and degree of hearing impairment and it's effect on speech and language development.
1.Perform diagnostic audiometric evaluations.
2.Administer electrophysiological testing.
3.Perform counseling and rehabilitation for otolaryngology pediatric patients.
4.Provide hearing aid/cochlear implant/assistive device assessment, selection, fitting and management.
5. Work closely with pediatric otolaryngologist in multi-discipline hearing impairment clinic that includes speech-language pathologist, developmental pediatrician, social worker, geneticist, educational consultant, and nurse case manager.
6.Coordinates educational activities of medical students, residents, and audiology externs.
7.Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Required
Education:Masters degree in audiology from accredited institution required. Doctorate degree highly preferred.
Experience: One year of related experience. Three year of related experience highly preferred.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Virginia State Licensure required.
Virginia State Hearing Aid Licensure highly preferred.
American Speech-Language Hearing Association Certification preferred. American Board of Audiology Pediatric Certification or willing to obtain is preferred.
