Full-Time Clinical Specialist - Ambulatory Care Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, Chicago, IL
As a full time Ambulatory Care Clinical Specialist with Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS), at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, you will provide pharmaceutical care to Hospital-associated and Family Health Center clinic patients, actively perform clinical interventions, and provide training to pharmacy residents and students. In addition, you will identify, prevent, assess, and resolve medication-related problems to ensure safe and optimal patient outcomes, promote clinically rational drug therapy and sound pharmaceutical care and maintain competency in unique aspects of drug therapy including, but not limited to, anticoagulation, heart failure, and smoking cessation. This is a full-time Monday-Friday exempt position.
About the facility: Located in downtown Chicago near public transportation and freeways, Mercy is known for a number of distinguished programs including cardiology, labor and delivery, urology, and diabetes. The Mercy inpatient pharmacy is open 24/7 and is a stand-alone pharmacy supported by centralized and decentralized automation products. The pharmacy staff of 38+ are a valued and integrated part of the hospital healthcare community. Management of the pharmacy is outsourced to CPS.
