Serve as senior public relations and communications officer for the College of Dentistry, Rory Meyers College of Nursing, and College of Global Public Health, as well as taking on other University public relations assignments. As a pro-active self-starter, provide strategic communications and reputation counsel to clients to identify, develop and execute communication functions that include writing, managing media requests, pitching both internal and external outlets, identifying and developing communications campaigns and initiatives that raise the visibility of the clients priorities and deliver ongoing media training.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree
Preferred Education: Master’s degree in related field.
Required Experience: 5 years of communications experience, including experience in healthcare communications and experience handling strategic communications planning and media relations at a large institution with significant responsibility for identifying, developing and executing stories for multiple internal and external platforms.
Preferred Experience: 7 years of communications experience, including experience in healthcare communications
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent presentation, networking, and verbal/written communications skills. Creative problem-solver. Ability to plan and manage multiple special events and projects. Ability to effectively manage and build relationships and to work independently and in teams. Knowledge of a wide range of communications media.
