Approximate Starting Date: August 22, 2017The licensing program of the California State University Maritime Academy (Cal Maritime) invites applications for a temporary part-time Lecturer opening. Applicants expecting to be considered must complete their online application and submit requested materials by close of business day on August 11, 2017 to receive priority consideration for the position. The successful candidate will be instructing for the Department of Engineering Technology and the Department of Maritime Transportation which offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Marine Engineering Technology with licensure, Facilities Engineering Technology and Marine Transportation with licensure. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Three years of professional experience Excellent communication skills Instructor certification for CPR/AED/First Aid through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS Academic leadership skills and experience Teaching experience at college or university level Familiarity with maritime industry Experience in assessment of STCW proficiencies
