The Educational Technologist serves as an educational technology support resource for SPS faculty and staff at the Center for Academic Excellence and Support (CAES). Apply relevant instructional technology techniques on how to use and apply educational technology tools to enhance student learning within traditional and online learning environments. Research, design, develop, and facilitate group and one-on-one professional development activities for faculty; including trainings, consultations, workshops and support documentation. Provide frontline user support for education technology tools, assist faculty in integrating technology into the in-person and online classroom as well as support internal special projects. Serve as the R&D lead on educational technology trends, monitor developments in the use of current and emerging instructional technologies while promoting the appropriate use of educational technology for SPS programming.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Preferred Education: Master's degree in instructional design and technology, educational technology or a related field.
Required Experience: 3 to 5 years' experience in the selection, adoption, implementation and evaluation of educational technologies in higher learning across all modalities. Primary technology contributor for course development projects (in-person and online) partnering with subject matter and faculty.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Demonstrated knowledge of the ways that educational technology can enhance instructional design models and increase teaching and learning outcomes. Experience with the application of instructional technology for adult learners, including adoption and LMS tool integration, web conferencing, interactive media and activities, LTI Integration, and adaptive learning.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Use of various learning management systems and educational technology tools, such as Captivate, to create online instructional content. Ability to communicate technical solutions to a variety of audiences. Ability to write and edit HTML and CSS code, use of Adobe Learning Suite and various media tools. Experience in the collection and analysis of learning analytics.
