Position Summary: The primary objective of the Assistant Coach is to coach the Pro KRS Team in cooperation with the Head Coach’s vision in the overall development and delivery of a world-class hockey program to achieve its mission of winning championships, developing future leaders and growing female hockey in China while pursuing the ultimate goal of medaling in the 2022 Olympic Winter Games.
General Responsibilities: Contribute to providing a positive and safe environment for KRS players where they may reach their full potential in the pursuit of excellence in hockey. Assist in the promotion, development, and growth of female hockey for KRS in the US and abroad through the coordination and implementation of all KRS initiatives. Ensure confidentiality and professionalism in all communication pertaining to the inner operations of the KRS Teams.

-Assist with on-ice development, games and other operations that pertain to the KRS Female Hockey Club.
-Implement a championship culture in conjunction with KRS and team identity, and represent KRS Female Hockey Club in an exemplary fashion. -Maximizing knowledge and expertise of staff to ensure success in all areas of team development - specifically off-ice training, practice, pre-game/tournament preparation, and post-game evaluation. -Implement the team play philosophy, concepts, systems and objectives developed by KRS system of Head Coach in CHIEF, and assist in the crafting of a seasonal overview, technical/tactical plan & competitive schedule, as well as the delivery of staff/team building program and meetings throughout the year. Coaching & Mentoring –all in conjunction with KRS philosophy.
-Implement the technical and tactical plan for offensive and defensive team play during team practices, individual/small group sessions and games
-Organize and execute the advance scouting and evaluation of opponents, prepare scout videos/reports and assist Chief & Head Coach in strategizing game plan.
-During competition, make decisions to obtain results with the understanding that development is also a priority.
-Evaluate performance of athletes and provide technical, tactical, and mental instruction/advice, and assist with individual player and team meetings. Scouting, Recruiting & Player Development
-Assist in scheduling, planning and coordinating KRS identification camps within established hockey markets for team.
-Assist in developing and implementing an overall identification, evaluation, and player development plan of current player personnel and prospective players through identification camps, development camps, training camps, and games for program. -Ensure that individual PDP’s (Player Development Plan) identify clear and measurable goals for improving individual skills, technical and tactical team play, and put in place systems and reporting methods to demonstrate progression throughout the season. -Assist in communicating the individual skills/training requirements required to succeed at the Pro Team level and National Team Level. Girls Hockey Promotion, Growth & Development -Assist in the cultivation and maintenance of positive relationships with a wide range of constituents that are necessary to grow female Hockey in the North America and China with the intent of improving China hockey (KRS).
-Assist in promoting KRS Professional Teams, and the growth and development of female minor hockey in North America and China through participation in camps, clinics, speeches and community involvement.
-Assist in expanding China’s female minor hockey coach development program through providing outreach coaching clinics and mentorship. -Assist in collaborating with the KRS men’s club to educate, market and grow the hockey fan base in China
