7 years of progressively responsible development experience – including staff management, volunteer management, and leadership annual and/or major gift solicitations – working for a healthcare institution, academic medical center, scientific research organization, or higher education institution.
Valid U.S. Driver's License.
Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and some experience working with complex databases.
Strategic planning/execution experience is required, as are superior written and verbal communication skills.
Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
The Director will have the stature and proven ability to develop relationships with alumni, school administrators and volunteers. S/he will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills – combined with intellectual curiosity and capacity – and the ability to synthesize the information into articulate and compelling cases for support of priority programs.
S/He will also possess a collaborative style that fosters effective partnerships with colleagues throughout University Advancement.
The Director will know how to creatively engage and motivate colleagues, volunteers, donors, and prospects in fundraising, while inspiring confidence with internal and external constituencies.
S/He will also have experience recruiting and managing volunteers as well as managing staff to ensure they set and meet performance objectives.
The Director will bring significant experience in the identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of leadership annual and/or major gifts, ideally within a complex healthcare institution, academic medical center, scientific research organization, or higher education institution.
