Managing and monitoring grants from inception until completion. While the main role focuses on post-award grant accounting, the grant administrator will be involved in all stages of the process. For proposal preparation this involves assisting in setting up a valid budget, ensuring proposal requirements such as formatting are met, coordinating with the OSP to ensure appropriate tracking paperwork is filled out, and similar tasks.
Manage complex fiscal accounting records for all funds supporting the center's research activity, including federal grants, gifts, and subcontracts while ensuring technical progress reports are submitted by deadline and managing grant proposals. This includes both pre-award and post-award tasks. As the center's grants point person, review, track, and advise the Sponsored Programs Accounting Office (SPA) on the accuracy of financial reports and/or invoices sent to funders. For the pre-award process, assist in setting up a valid budget, ensure proposal requirements such as formatting are met, coordinate with the OSP to ensure appropriate tracking paperwork is filled out, and similar tasks. Ensure up-to-date knowledge of grant expenditures, and development of strong relationships with the personnel in SPA.
Required Education - Bachelor’s degree
Required Experience – Minimum of 5 years of experience working with grants and contracts.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities – Proficiency with use of computers, experience in excel, electronic mail and internet systems. Should be well organized and self - motivated with good people skills. Must be able to work flexible hours.
Preferred Education – BS in related field.
Preferred Experience – Over 5 years of experience in related area.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities – Familiarity with university policies and procedures, particularly grants and contracts, in addition to familiarity in a research, technical and /or grant funded environment.
