Senior Exhibitions Associate is responsible for a wide variety of activities associated with the planning and implementation of an ambitious Exhibition and Public Programming schedule. Manage the implementation of rigorous exhibition time-lines from project conception to completion. Develop and administer Institute's fiscal year and project budgets and generate fiscal reports for the Exhibitions Director; oversee organization of all incoming invoices; submit invoices in a timely fashion; assure all financial transactions conform to ISAW policy; manage gallery operations including a group of part-time gallery attendants; laise between Exhibition Director and public relations firm overseeing press outreach for exhibitions; and oversee the planning of 20 VIP events per year. These responsibilities require advanced budgetary and financial skills, strong inter-personal skills and sound independent judgment.
Required Education: B.A. in Art History, Museum Studies or related field
Preferred Education: M.A, in Art History, Museum Studies or related field
Required Experience: 5-8 years of experience in a similar administrative post, preferably in a cultural institution or university.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent diplomatic and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with high level museum and cultural institution officials as well as possible exhibition sponsors; ability to make sound, independent decision, particularly when the Associate Director is traveling. Excellent communication, problem solving and organizational skills. Ability to meet fixed deadlines. Knowledge of standard office software database and financial applications.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Deep knowledge of the art and cultures of the ancient world.
