Service Delivery: Consults with NYU IT, the Office of Global Programs, and units, and with global academic and administrative leaders to plan and implement IT services, policies, practices, and operations in New York and abroad. Engages global leadership in the planning for new international sites. Integrate technology plans for the international sites into a cohesive global study environment. Manages the start-up and improvement of services for existing and new global/international sites, and coordinate upgrades and troubleshooting with global/international staff and staff in New York. Works with NYU Abu Dhabi (AD), NYU Shanghai, and site staff as needed to further integrate services developed for AD/Shanghai into the global/ international sites, including portal campuses. Works with international programs across the University to integrate services, develop economies of scale in service delivery, and advise on high-level IT strategies in the development of new ventures abroad. Community Relationships: Collaborates with and engages the appropriate contacts in NYU units (schools, sites, campuses) to ensure that their changing IT needs are identified and are either being met by NYU IT, or consultation is provided regarding options available elsewhere. Serves as the client’s advocate to ensure they are receiving appropriate support from all areas of NYU IT. Acts as a liaison between the client and NYU IT. Participates in the NYU IT-wide partnership & community relationship virtual team, for sharing information about new client needs and aligning current and future services to those needs. Works with service leads across NYU IT to align services, and to communicate changing service requirements and client experience with current service offering. Assists clients with troubleshooting cross-functional or cross-unit service or communication issues as needed.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree
Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Information Technology, Management, or related area.
Required Experience: 5 years' progressively responsible experience in an information technology environment, with heavy emphasis on managing and delivering diverse technical solutions. Experience with communicating complex issues to technical and nontechnical users. Leadership and negotiation skills. Ability to work across units and organizational boundaries.
Preferred Experience: Experience in higher education institution with local and global service delivery.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Skills in the areas of relationship management, project management, and solutions delivery in an IT environment. Ability to understand unit IT needs, and align them with current and future services. Familiarity with software, programming, and web publishing concepts and technologies.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of one or more foreign languages. Working experience with international organizations.
