The Cardiac Surgery Progressive Care Unit is a 25 bed unit that provides specialized care and skilled observation for the pre and post operative cardiac surgery patient. The unit cares for patients with acute cardiac events and illnesses. Nurses are an important part of the Interdisciplinary Team which is focused on providing high quality care.The management of the unit is the responsibility of the Unit Director with staff participating in a shared governance model creating an environment in which the clinical nurse has a voice in determining nursing practice, standards and quality of care at the unit level.

Minimum Qualifications Required:
Currently licensed as Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible to obtain Virginia RN licensure. Graduate of school of professional nursing of an accredited college. Obtain CPR, and as needed ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications. Computer skills required for electronic medical record (EPIC). Successfully complete orientation and competency requirements. Meet essential job functions.
